i cannot believe the momentum the obama has going his way right now. i cannot believe that we actually may have an african american male running for president and many people are saying that he would be favored to beat mccain. i can't believe this is all happening. this time last year, i would have said no way... the country would never vote an african american into office. i think things have changed.... oh have they changed. i was listening to his victory speech tonight in madison, wisconsin. i have never heard a person running for president speak like him. he spoke of hope, change, and dreams that can become reality. he acknowledge that it is an uphill road, but that we can make it. i told kade.... you see that guy on tv. his name is barak obama. he could change everything.

as i was watching the GIANTS end the quest toward perfection on Superbowl Sunday... it was great. my friend kurits' uncle had a flash back to me in high school when i would do my jim carey impersonations. fire marshall bill was my favorite.... "let me tell you something". today at uywi, we got into a discussion in regards to the best jim carey films of all time. i have seen i think all of them even an early film called rubberface, which i encourage everyone to stay away from. here are my top 5 in descending order:

#5 Man on the Moon (His ability in this film to take over a character was amazing.)

#4 Ace Ventura 2: When Nature Calls (i liked this one better than the first and when he comes out of the rhino butt naked... i loose it every time.)

#3 Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (wow. this was a trip.)

#2 Liar Liar (this was really close to being first. the bathroom scene when he beats the crap out of himself is unforgettable. the father son piece to the movie also could have pushed it to #1 as well)

#1 Dumb and Dumber (i think i sharted the first time i saw this in the theater, i know i was crying in the aisle. this was a classic of all time.)

GIANTS WIN!

i almost jumped through the ceiling at my friend kurtis' house when plaxico caught the pass in the corner of the end zone. i had a feeling after the catch across the middle when eli got away from a sack and threw it up for grabs. the trojan steve smtih made one mistake, but than had a critical catch on the last drive also.

it was amazing to see the patriots and than for belacheat to walk off the field before the game was over... showed the amount of class that he has... 18 - 1 is done. no super bowl victory. it was great. i love it. i think i need to buy a g-men shirt.

Just Like Football!

it was a great day to be a trojan basketball fan, as the trojans dismantled the #4 care bears at pauley pavillion. i just had to post a little shout out for the young basketball trojans. they have definitely been a let down in the pac-10, so hopefully this will help them turn the corner.

Now What?

i was sitting in the stands right in front of the trick play that put illinois in their seats and shut them up for the rest of the game. i love the haters.... i do love you jeremy, but u r a hater. lol. i love this picture for so many reasons. it gives the haters something to kiss and you see pete with his hands raised in the air. i think my favorite part of the game was in the 4th quarter and 7 year senior hershell dennis was in the game near the goal line and they had given him the ball twice to run it in and he had not made it. the fans starting chatting his name to give him one more go at it and they did. he barely got it across the goal line and the place went crazy. the entire team rushed the field and jumped on top of him and went crazy in the end zone. it continued on the sideline for a few minutes. it showed the closeness and love the team has for the veterans.

oh, well. it was great start to a new year. the care bears had a great end of the season and will be on probation soon with rick on the sidelines lol. i will try to post more soon, so check back bi-weekly or every once in awhile for updates on the confusion of my life and the boys who call me daddy. peace.

Are we a peacekeeping nation?

i have been in hiatus for awhile, so i have probably lost all of my reader. lol. so i will post this for myself and it will help me process. as some of you may know from previous blogs that i am reading the new brian mclaren book, "everything must change". it has been a slower read than some of his other books, because it takes me down many roads i have never been in regards to thinking about the greatest issues of the world. i really probably need to be processing all of this with someone who either is reading the book or understands some of these issues and world affairs better than myself. this post will be a few statements from the book in regards to the US's role in providing arms to other countries.

"... after the vietnam war era: mcnamara concluded that is would be rational to limit the armament costs by producing larger runs of each weapon and selling them abroad. the us also happened to be running a three billion dollar general trade deficit. foreign arm sales would be a way to balance the situation."

i read these quotes and have so many emotions and thoughts. i am not sure what to think but somehow it does not all make sense. we get pissed off at all of these other countries but do not even police ourselves. we definitely as a country serve money over god. we may say that we are for peace with our mouths, but it seems our actions say something so different.
